Greek Verbs Recogntion
Present tense = I am stopping / I stop
Imperfect tense = I was stopping / I used to stop

Present tense has no augment.
Imperfect tense usually has an augment: ἐ-.
So compare:
- παύομεν = we stop
- ἐπαύομεν = we were stopping
