Remember that only 50 per cent of Latin verbs show their perfect tense with a -v- infix before the personal ending. But you need to learn these before we move to the others

How to build the verb:

1. Start with the verb
2. Add the tense marker (-ba- or -v-)
3. Add the ending (-o, -s, -t, -mus, -tis, -nt)

Example:
we were carrying = porta + ba + mus = portabamus
